Jakob Thomä is one of the leading global experts on sustainable finance and long-term risks. He co-founded the 2° Investing Initiative entities in New York and Berlin and serves as Executive Director of 2° Investing Initiative Deutschland.

Over the past 10 years, Jakob has led the development of a range of sustainability solutions, with a focus on designing business models for both public and commercial goods. Jakob led the incubation of PACTA, the first methodology and tool to measure the alignment of financial portfolios with climate goals, and today the most widely used alignment methodology in the world. He led the negotations of the PACTA transfer to RMI in 2022. Jakob also co-led the incubation of AssetResolution, now a commercial data company. Current ventures include MyFairMoney and 1in1000, as well as a venture on climate-related SME data.

Jakob is Special Research Fellow to the Japanese Financial Services Agency, as well as member of the FCA Disclosure & Labels Advisory Group and the Austria Green Finance Beirat. He previously served as Academic Advisor to the Bank of England and EIOPA. He holds a PhD in Finance from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Metiers. Jakob is also Senior Fellow at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, where he teaches a Green Finance course.

Hector McNeil is a veteran of the ETF industry, being instrumental in establishing Susquehanna’s ETF desk in Europe as head of business development. Hector then joined ETF Securities as Joint Managing Partner, before going on to found BoostETP with Nik Bienkowski in 2011. BoostETP was purchased by US ETF provider WisdomTree in 2014 and following the completion of this buyout in 2016 Hector stepped down as Co-CEO of WisdomTree Europe.

He has since set up Europe’s first independent ‘white label’ ETF platform, HANetf, with business partner Nik Bienkowski, which will provide asset managers with a turnkey solution to enter the European ETF market. Hector, a Fellow of the Securities Institute, holds a BA in Economics and received an MBA from Warwick Business School. Hector was recently recognised as one of the most influential ETF experts in the industry, by being included in the ETF Stream ‘30 Index’.

Peter Dietrich is the Head of Wealth for Morningstar Indexes, with primary responsibility for developing direct indexing relationships and establishing strategic partnerships with firms across the wealth segment.

Prior to this role, Peter spent 18 months as the global head of sales for Morningstar Indexes and three years in Hong Kong leading retail business development for Morningstar across Greater China and Asia.  Peter joined Morningstar in 2006 and has served in a variety of business development roles across the firm. From 2006 to 2012, he helped grow the flagship research platform, Morningstar DirectTM across North America. In 2012, he joined the Global Business Development team and was responsible for managing three of Morningstar’s largest strategic partners. Peter began his career at Northwestern Mutual and then Ibbotson Associates before it was acquired by Morningstar.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and an MBA in corporate entrepreneurship from DePaul’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.

Nadia Papagiannis, CFA, is responsible for developing and managing discretionary, multi-asset class products including model portfolios for NTAM. She joined Northern Trust in 2018, having spent more than 4 years at Goldman Sachs Asset Management as Director of Alternative Investment Strategy and 8 years at Morningstar, where she was the Director of Alternative Fund Research. Nadia received an MBA from the University of Chicago in 2009.

Prior to joining Morningstar in 2005, she was a senior compliance examiner at NASD (now FINRA), auditing broker-dealers. She also worked at the National Futures Association (NFA), auditing firms trading futures and options, including hedge funds.

Papagiannis holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and French from the University of Wisconsin and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Papagiannis also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. In 2011, Institutional Investor selected her as one of the publication’s Rising Stars of Mutual Funds. Nadia Papagiannis, CFA, is responsible for developing and managing discretionary, multi-asset class products including model portfolios for NTAM. He began his career in 2000 as a fixed income research analyst at Dresdner Bank in Frankfurt. He joined Dresdner’s Fl index research group in 2002 and served as a member of the iBoxx European technical committee until 2006.
