Global asset manager, Weiss Multi Strategy Advisers has launched a new daily content series on its website for financial advisers.

Morning Seeds will be available on their website and updated each morning by 9:30 ET. This offering will provide the consolidated insights of their internal meeting an hour earlier.

Jordi Visser, president, and chief investment officer of Weiss said: “We’re really excited to unveil Morning Seeds and hope it can become a daily touchpoint for advisers and their clients.”

Visser explained that this concept originated out of client interest.

“We have a lot of investors, across hedge funds, mutual funds and UCITS. People would come to the morning meeting and would say there’s a lot of information here that we just don’t hear until later.”

It is often the case that daily outlets and television market commentators are somewhat behind the curve when it comes to analyzing the themes investors are most worried about.

“Our clients were more interested in the fact that we were trying to find them things they couldn’t find in the newspaper,” Visser added.

Looking for divergences

Visser said one of the things he noticed last week when writing these daily offerings is that investment grade yields, or investment grade spreads did not make new wides while the stock market made new lows.

“I’m looking for divergences,” he added. “Because there’s a lot of money on the sidelines looking for places to invest and the most likely space would be in US investment grade yields, which hit 5% last week.”

Indeed, as they hit 5% there was an uptick in demand.

Visser continued: “If spreads start to ease a little bit here, and 5% is the line in the sand for where at least for the time being, people will put money to work.

“Every time we’ve seen bond volatility come down this year, or go up, it has a huge impact on the markets.”

He said giving investors these signs are important, because eventually investors will have to buy and make the right call at the right time – equipped with the best information.

“The client needs to be on top of things because things are moving faster than they ever have. And we’re hoping that by giving them daily seeds, we’re trying to help them much earlier than previously before.”
